While individually discussing each electrical property of a ceramic there is a risk of overlooking the broad array of combined attributes that ceramics offer. Plotting the electrical properties of the varied technical ceramic helps illustrate the breadth of engineered possibilities that ceramics can provide.

Most of the property values and test methods described herein are performed upon test coupons (samples / test pieces) manufactured to a specific simple geometry, rather than upon finished articles of differing geometries for different end-uses. Because of these geometric differences and because processing techniques (machining, pressing, etc.) will likely differ, the property values of a finished part can differ from that of a test coupon. Material performance can be strongly influenced by the applications conditions that differ from those of a test method. Please contact us early in the design process to review your application needs and discuss material, manufacturing, and design options.
